(Cincinnati, OH)  May 27th, 2016 – RoundTower Technologies, LLC announced that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 audit.

The examination was performed by independent CPA firm Schellman & Company, Inc., verifying that RoundTower’s information security practices, policies and procedures meet the SOC 2 trust service criteria for security, availability, and confidentiality.

“By engaging an independent CPA group to examine and report on our controls, we are responding to the needs of our customers,” says Michael Swiencki, Director of Managed Services. “This provides an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of our embedded controls that address operations and compliance, as well as our financial reporting.”

Why is SOC 2 Important to Our Customers?

Service providers must demonstrate that they have adequate controls of data protection technologies and processes. The SOC 2 audit criteria, used by global companies such as Amazon Web Services and Google, documents the security of infrastructures and services and is rapidly becoming the industry standard. The SOC 2 Type 1 report validates that RoundTower now has those established processes and procedures in place. When followed with a Type 2 audit, this sets the bar even higher, having more meaningful audit standards then SAS70 or SSAE 16 SOC 1.  RoundTower will be undergoing the SOC2 Type 2 audit in Q1 of 2017.
